Digipack idea 1
This is an idea for my digipack. The design of it is basic but effective as it gives the band name aswell as some of the songs on there.

First band filming session
Our first band filming session took place on the 12th November, we filmed it in the drama studio. We gained permission from the teachers to record the video in there.
We set up the band kit in a style of Mallory Knox video for Oceans, in which the drummer is on a raised platform. We also took ideas of camera shots from the same video, I have done a comparison of the screenshots from Mallory Knox compared to our video.

Ideas of shots we can use during our video
As a group, we compiled a list of interesting shots and ideas that we wanted to implement in our video.
These Ideas were:
A dual story music video: Differing shots swapping between the band performing the song and a separate story.
A time lapse of a skyline: The sun fading behind the buildings in Liverpool.
A stop motion video of the band performing: This was inspired by the music video for Adam's song by Blink-182. We will then "pop" the video out of the stop motion.
A drive by video: The video will be taken from a moving car.
Postcards: The video will feature extras holding postcards with words and images relating to the song.

6 pannel digipack
This is an example of a more modern album. It is a 6 panelled version of an album with not much else different in it compared to a 4 sided panel.
Health and Safety during the recordings
There are several areas
which need to be covered when it comes to health and safety. The main areas are
for the band, camera crew and other members of the casting crew. To stop there
being an injuries during the filming we have decided to take these precautions:
• Move or use tape down cables and objects that could
be tripped over
• Go carefully when moving or lifting heavy or
dangerous things, ask someone to help you
• Move or use tape down cables and objects that could
be tripped over
• Go carefully when moving or lifting heavy or

• When a camera operator or cast member is walking
during a shot, make sure they are comfortable with their route and there is
nothing that could cause problems
• Then put in place safeguards to eliminate or
minimise risk. This can save time during your shoot. Rules about listening to
each other, respecting a chain of command, looking after equipment properly,
and not rushing, will all help to keep people safe and happy.

Digipack examples
These are examples of digipacks. I can take ideas from these for my own digipacks. I haven't decided on the amount of sides on the digipack. For a basic design I will need a front cover, lyrics/song booklet an d aback with all the songs on it. The best example of this is the AC/DC album which has both a front, middle and back to the album, this is a basic yet effective design compared to more modern album designs which may have more pannels to it.
This is the digipack style layout which I am hoping to use when my digipack is ready to be created. I have chose this design as it is simple but effective, although it wont contain as much as most albums, the album only needs 4 pannels for the necessary items of the album, included int his will be CD and Booklet. The front will have the name of the band and the album title on it. The back of the album with have the track list on the back of it.

Filming update
This is our schedule for our times and dates when the scenes will be recorded. We have decided on:
We have taken our ideas from our past storyboard and have kept to most of our draft ideas. The shots/ideas we have vary on location as well as time. We have kept to:
As a group and actors we have decided on time and dates for some scenes but not all of them yet. The list can be found below:

- New Brighton Promenade, where we will record the band on the beach or on the prom itself
- The band performing the song itself in the drama studio with the song and outside without the song
- A time-lapse of the Liverpool skyline
- The field on the school premises
- New Brighton beach
As a group and actors we have decided on time and dates for some scenes but not all of them yet. The list can be found below:
- Time of first shoot: 12th November - 1:15-3:00 pm, in the drama studio. We have decided on these times and this location as it fits in well with our school day and we need a bit of time to set up the props.
- New Brighton Promenade, we haven't decided yet on a time or a day, we have however decided that we should do it before it gets dark so we can get the full effect of the prom as well as the beach.
- A time lapse of the Liverpool skyline, we have decided to record this in the late evening or early morning as thats when the prom isn't as busy as it is throughout the day. We have also decided on this as the skyline looks better with the lights on in Liverpool than it does throughout the day.

Examples Of Postcards
These are some examples of the postcards which we used for our music video, we got the idea from Adams song by Blink-182. We liked the idea of it as the video itself had
parts which were inside of the cards, this is an example of the post card idea we went for. The postcard has been zoomed into by the camera, as it is being zoomed in, there is a video playing within the photo.
These are examples of out post cards:

First Film Review
For our first video shoot we took short clips of actors with our created cards. We had 20-25 actors hold up the cards and push it out in-front of them.
The first shoot went down well as we had enough actors to film the scenes which we wanted too and also had others incase we wanted to add some more into the video. We had started using iMovie to start the editing on the first few postcard videos. We haven't fully decided what the general bits of editing would be, we have ideas for them but can't decide on which which flows throughout the video effectively.

Second video recording
For our second recording we used the same people but multiple times, however this time we did close ups of the cards which we made. This is so we have a variety of shots when we edit the video at a later date.
We recorded the second scene in the tutorial room with the correct lighting, so that the cards aren't too light or dark so that the camera can pick them up easy. We also recorded it so that we could hardly see the faces of the actors which we use.

Video shoot, Part 1
For our first video shoot we took short clips of actors with our created cards. We had 20-25 actors hold up the cards and push it out in-front of them when we said action.
The location of this video shoot was outside the school on a patch of grass, in which the camera was placed on a tri-pod while the actors stood a set distance away so that we were able to use the rule of thirds after we had edited it. We also took it there as it was a nice day and the sun isn't directly behind the actors so we can clearly see them on the recording.

Other ideas (screenshots)
These are other examples of possible camera shots that we could use. We took these screen shots from Boxcar Racer-I feel so. The screen shots provide us with a variety of different shots for a variety of different instruments which we are likely to use while recording our video.
Band Location Ideas
As a group we have decided on a mixture of ideal locations to which the music video can be shot. We have decided on:
- New Brighton/Liverpool Prom
- Around school
- New Brighton Beach
- Sand Hills (undecided)
- Music Room
(The videos can also be found below)
We got our location ideas from:
The Blackhand- All about the Money
Guardians- Make it out alive
Mallory Knox- Oceans
Blink-182- Adam's song
Scan
This scan shows a basic idea for our scenes in our video production. Each one of the boxes indicate the different scenes for our music video. We also have a list on the side with actors name on it and weather they have performed in the video yet.

Examples of the shots we may use
Example of match cut-2001 A Space Odyssey
This is a god example of a match cut which we may use when recording our clips as it shows it clearly.Eye-line matching:
Rule of Thirds example
Camera shot styles which we may use
Cut: The splicing of two shots together. This cut is made by the film editor at the editing stage of a film. Between sequences the cut marks a rapid transition between one time and space and another, but depending on the nature of the cut it will have different meanings.
Eye-line matching: This is used to practice ensuring the logic of the look or gaze. In other words, eyeline matching is based on the belief in mainstream cinema that when a character looks into off-screen space the spectator expects to see what he or she is looking at.
Rule of thirds: When filming or photographing people, it is common to line the body up to a vertical line and the person's eyes to a horizontal line. If filming a moving subject, the same pattern is often followed, with the majority of the extra room being in front of the person (the way or direction they are moving). Likewise, when photographing a still subject who is not directly facing the camera, the majority of the extra room should be in front of the subject with the vertical line running through their perceived centre of mass.

Role within the group
My main role in the group is being one of the Camera Operators. This means that I will help with the recording of the shots with the camera. Me and Rhya are the camera operators, as Kyle will be featured in the music video as an actor.

Final Decision
For our final decision, as a group we chose Dark Blue by Jacks Mannequin. We chose this is song as the song itself can be replicated with the group and the video can also be replicated in the school and around the local area.

Permissions Slip Equipment
This is our permission slip which we have given to the music teacher to confirm that we can use the music equipment with her permission. We have also asked for permission from the caretakers aswell as drama teachers to see weather we can use there equipment during our time of recording.

Permissions Slip Music
I have been planning my
