Roles within the Group

Director: responsible for making artistic decisions about the film. We decided that the group would be more unified if we had an overall leader, although we could all present our ideas and be listened to. We decided to elect Rhya as our director.

Assistant Director: assists the director and organises the film shoot. Max and Kyle assumed the role of assistant directors.

Camera Operator: responsible for recording the shots with the camera. Max and Rhya are the camera operators, as Kyle will be featured in the music video.

Grip and Runners: responsible for carrying heavy camera equipment or tripods and  any jobs or errands the director or 1st assistant director needs doing. All of the group are assuming this role, as we can share the load of carrying equipment to shooting locations.

Extra Crew Members

Clapper Loader: responsible for logging completed shots and using the clapper board!
Rhya is taking on this role as she is the Director.

Continuity: Ensuring that there are no errors in costumes from scene to scene, or changes in time. The entire group will fulfill this role.

Art Department: responsible for props and set design.  Kyle and Rhya will be responsible for this.

Actors: responsible for performing or appearing in front of the camera. Kyle will be an actor, and different Oldershaw students will be used in the music video.

Extras: responsible for appearing in crowd scenes. Oldershaw students will be used as extras.

Wardrobe: responsible for costumes, hair and make-up. The group will share ideas in regards to wardrobe.

Sound Mixer: responsible for monitoring the sound levels and recording on set if you have an external microphone.

Pros and Cons

During our time making the film trailer there were many pros and cons to our trailer.

Pros
During our time filming the trailer we stuck with the same costume, which made the characters we played recognised by the audience easier.

Another pro to our trailer was the use of the varied camera shots for the scenes we produced.  The variety included over the shoulder shots, close ups etc..

Cons
One of the negative points with our trailer is that we didnt have any sound over our trailer so the trailer itself was more or less silent

Another con is that the editing for the trailer used the same editing between each scene and the same outer rim to each scene. Thi sbeing repetative may annoy the audience as the same one can be annoying.

Another con is that we were limited in our location choices for our trailer, as we were confined to our school grounds.

Editing our trailer part 2

This is the second set of images showing how we edited our trailer. In these we show us adding effects to the trailer including scene changes and the smoothing out of the clips.

Editing our trailer part1

For our trailer we used a variety of programmes to add effects aswell as voice overs for out trailer. These are images which show us working on our trailer using these programmes.

Planning our Trailer

For the first scene we recorded the clip in a classroom which we altered slightly so that it looks slightly similar to the bar scene in the trailer. We kept in the newspaper and the door behind the main character.

For our second scene we kept our interpritation of the bar scene the same as in the trailer the bar is robbed by gunmen. In the shot we made it so that we can see the main characters reaction swell as the shooter in the background. From this scene also we added on the running scene and put it so that the stair scene so that the trailer flowed smoother without the need for much editing.

For our third scene we moved to another part of the school, this was to record the stair scene. We were not able to replicate it fully as we don't have the same location as the trailer of the film. We kept the chase scene and the shooting scene relatively close to the trailer scene. We did this by using stairs and other props which are similar to the trailers props.

To get a basic idea of an ida whch we had for our trailer, we used a story board to map out the ideas of what we had and the props, costume etc. This is what we came up with...
