Band Location Ideas
As a group we have decided on a mixture of ideal locations to which the music video can be shot. We have decided on:
- New Brighton/Liverpool Prom
- Around school
- New Brighton Beach
- Sand Hills (undecided)
- Music Room
(The videos can also be found below)
We got our location ideas from:
The Blackhand- All about the Money
Guardians- Make it out alive
Mallory Knox- Oceans
Blink-182- Adam's song
Scan
This scan shows a basic idea for our scenes in our video production. Each one of the boxes indicate the different scenes for our music video. We also have a list on the side with actors name on it and weather they have performed in the video yet.

Examples of the shots we may use
Example of match cut-2001 A Space Odyssey
This is a god example of a match cut which we may use when recording our clips as it shows it clearly.Eye-line matching:
Rule of Thirds example
Camera shot styles which we may use
Cut: The splicing of two shots together. This cut is made by the film editor at the editing stage of a film. Between sequences the cut marks a rapid transition between one time and space and another, but depending on the nature of the cut it will have different meanings.
Eye-line matching: This is used to practice ensuring the logic of the look or gaze. In other words, eyeline matching is based on the belief in mainstream cinema that when a character looks into off-screen space the spectator expects to see what he or she is looking at.
Rule of thirds: When filming or photographing people, it is common to line the body up to a vertical line and the person's eyes to a horizontal line. If filming a moving subject, the same pattern is often followed, with the majority of the extra room being in front of the person (the way or direction they are moving). Likewise, when photographing a still subject who is not directly facing the camera, the majority of the extra room should be in front of the subject with the vertical line running through their perceived centre of mass.

Role within the group
My main role in the group is being one of the Camera Operators. This means that I will help with the recording of the shots with the camera. Me and Rhya are the camera operators, as Kyle will be featured in the music video as an actor.

Final Decision
For our final decision, as a group we chose Dark Blue by Jacks Mannequin. We chose this is song as the song itself can be replicated with the group and the video can also be replicated in the school and around the local area.

Permissions Slip Music
I have been planning my
filming and time management, while during lesson's I have been researching for
music suitable for my Music Video. After research predominately using iTunes
and YouTube I chose Dark Blue written by Jack’s
Mannequin as the song is
copyrighted I had to contact Jack's Mannequin asking for permission to use the music.

Screen shots
This shot is a favourite of mine as it shows many members of the band in a formation which goes well with the camera.
This shot is a favourite within the group as it is a good shot of the guitar and how it is being played.

Video idea
In our music video we have taken an idea from Blink-182 and there video for Adam's song in which there is a Polaroid shot of the band coming of the wall.
Costume ideas
For the band as a group we decided that the band would wear jeans, band t-shirt (examples above). This is because the actors own these types of shirts and it shows the genre of music which the song itself is. Although it isn't a clear genre, this is what you expect to see within a music video as it is normal to see them.

Personal Song choice 1
Within the group we all had ideas for what videos and music we like the look of which can be replicated fairly easily.
.
.
Mallory Knox -Oceans. This is one song which I put forward to the group.
For another idea for a video, I have chosen Catfish and the Bottlmen’s video for ‘Kathleen’. and Mallory Knox's video for 'Ghost in the Mirror'

Final decision Brief
For our next project we decided to go for the first
brief :
1.
A promotion package for the release of an album,
to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three
options.
•
A website homepage for the band
•
a digipak for the album's release
•
a magazine advertisement for the digipak
for my fist example I have chosen Malloy Knox
with the video for 'Ghost in the mirror'. The video itself can be changed to
suit a more simple idea.
To help us get an idea of what we wanted out of
the music trailer and the genre of music we wanted. In the end we decided to go
for a rock genre and thus found music videos from artists who would influence
our project.
For another idea for a video, I have chosen
Catfish and the Bottlmen’s video for ‘Kathleen’. I chose this as it has a vast
amount of camera work, which can be replicated.
