Digipack idea 1

This is an idea for my digipack. The design of it is basic but effective as it gives the band name aswell as some of the songs on there.

First band filming session

Our first band filming session took place on the 12th November, we filmed it in the drama studio. We gained permission from the teachers to record the video in there.

We set up the band kit in a style of Mallory Knox video for Oceans, in which the drummer is on a raised platform. We also took ideas of camera shots from the same video, I have done a comparison of the screenshots from Mallory Knox compared to our video.

Ideas of shots we can use during our video

As a group, we compiled a list of interesting shots and ideas that we wanted to implement in our video.

These Ideas were:

A dual story music video: Differing shots swapping between the band performing the song and a separate story.

A time lapse of a skyline: The sun fading behind the buildings in Liverpool.

A stop motion video of the band performing: This was inspired by the music video for Adam's song by Blink-182.  We will then "pop" the video out of the stop motion.

A drive by video: The video will be taken from a moving car.

Postcards: The video will feature extras holding postcards with words and images relating to the song.

6 pannel digipack

This is an example of a more modern album. It is a 6 panelled version of an album with not much else different in it compared to a 4 sided panel.

Health and Safety during the recordings

There are several areas which need to be covered when it comes to health and safety. The main areas are for the band, camera crew and other members of the casting crew. To stop there being an injuries during the filming we have decided to take these precautions:

Move or use tape down cables and objects that could be tripped over

Go carefully when moving or lifting heavy or dangerous things, ask someone to help you

When a camera operator or cast member is walking during a shot, make sure they are comfortable with their route and there is nothing that could cause problems
Then put in place safeguards to eliminate or minimise risk. This can save time during your shoot. Rules about listening to each other, respecting a chain of command, looking after equipment properly, and not rushing, will all help to keep people safe and happy.
