Poster Examples
For my poster, I have taken ideas from band tour posters.
One convention which shows up on many band posters, is that there is an image of the band above the tour dates and supporting bands.
This is a convention which I haven't used when adding the final bits to the poster. This is so that I can add more detail to the poster itself.
Although not present on my poster, the support bands are both in a different font compared to the headline band as well as the size. This shows which band are headlining the show and which most people attending are interested in seeing.

Magazine research
My A2 media studies coursework required me and my group to
make a music video with our ancillary talk of making a digipack for the band,
along with a poster advertising the album. As a group we decided that the genre
for our song is pop rock, through our genre decision we looked at other videos
within this genre and took ideas from them and implemented them into our music
video. I did this, so that our video can
branch out to a wider audience, as well as keeping the focus audience
interested in the song and video.
For one of the
Ancillary tasks, I need to create a magazine advertisement for the Band's new poster.
Before
I created my poster advertisement, I researched into suitable magazines for the
advert to be displayed in.
I first need to understand my target audience in order to effectively appeal to them with the advert and its placement.
My
target audience are:
·
Males and females aged 16-21
·
Interested in Pop rock music
·
Interested in Music Magazines
·
Living in the United Kingdom
Kerrang! also has an extremely high brand influence score - 73%
this means that adverts in Kerrang! will reach and influence a large amount of people.
Due to the demographics of these two magazines being quite wealthy with a large disposable income, I will be creating my poster to suite them. The poster should not look out of place in a glossy magazine.
